Gwendolyn Baxley Gwendolyn Baxley is a Honors SAS senior with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Education and English. Her interest in research began her sophomore in the Aresty Research program under the guidance of Dr. Maurice Elias, as a part of the Developing Safe and Civil Schools Initiative. Finding research in the field of education fascinating and influential, she continued research in this field as a McNair scholar in the summer of 2011 and as a research intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the summer of 2012. These experiences have shaped her current topic for her senior thesis and research interest for graduate school: charter schools and school capacity. Baxley aspires to utilize the knowledge she gains through her doctoral work to help propose and implement policies that can provide quality education to all students, particularly those in disadvantaged areas like the one where she grew up.
